About

Comedians perform their favourite bits, long since departed from their repertoires.

Come and share in the nostalgia as comics scour their memories for jokes they used to love to tell. Out-of-date topical references, raw early material, or just classics which happened to be replaced by newer bits.

Featuring:

RICH HALL

The award-winning Montana native is renowned for his expertly crafted tirades, quick-fire banter with audiences and delightful musical sequences. Rich, who has won the Perrier Award (Edinburgh Comedy Festival) and Barry Award, (Melbourne International Comedy Festival) has been described as a transatlantic messenger, lampooning each country he visits with his laser-guided observations.

He has fronted the hugely successful BBC Four documentaries Rich Hall’s Red Menace, Rich Hall’s Working for the American Dream, Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You, Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match, Rich Hall’s California Stars, Rich Hall’s You Can Go to Hell, I’m Going to Texas, and Rich Hall’s Inventing the Indian.

In addition, he has appeared on BBC One’s QI, Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You, he wrote and starred in his own reoccurring BBC Radio 4 show Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown and has penned articles for The Guardian and The Sunday Times.

For TV, Rich has acted in the Peacock’s dystopian thriller Brave New World, ITV2 sitcom Cockroaches, Comedy Central’s Drunk History, and lent his voice to characters on CITV’s Thunderbirds Are Go and Cartoon Network’s Elliot from Earth.

TOM ROSENTHAL

He is best known for his television roles as Jonny Goodman in Friday Night Dinner (2011–2020) and Marcus Gallo in Plebs (2013–2022). He has written and performed three stand-up comedy shows: Child of Privilege (2011), благодаря (2013), and Manhood (2019–2020), the latter of which received critical acclaim at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

JOE JACOBS

Joe Jacobs is a London based comedian, rapper and writer. His live shows effortlessly flit between hip hop and comedy and he’s been seen/heard on Channel 4, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music, Radio 1XTRA, plus gained millions of viral video views online.

On the live circuit, he’s a regular at The Comedy Store, Top Secret, Glee, The Bearcat, Up The Creek, Backyard Comedy Club, Covent Garden Comedy Club, Knock2Bag, Downstairs At The Kings Head, Banana Cabaret, The Distraction Club and many others.

He has provided tour support for acts such as Jamali Maddix, Dane Baptiste and even opened for Bill Burr at The Comedy Store in Hollywood.

In 2017, Joe took Ripe to the Edinburgh Fringe where it received critical acclaim. In 2019, he returned with Grimefulness.

His TV work includes Harry Hill’s ClubNite on Channel 4, Nazi Pug: Joke or Hate on BBC3, plus his viral rap track I’m Dog was featured on E4’s Rudetube.

Joe’s first foray into radio was with Hip Hop’s Laughing Stock on BBC Sounds in September 2020. This show was soon added to BBC’s Seriously podcast, showcasing the best documentaries from the BBC worldwide.

In addition to stand up, as solo artist Jester Jacobs, he’s put out music since his debut Mental Disorder in 2008. Since then, he has had regular releases with performances nationally and internationally.

ALI WOODS

Ali Woods is a half-English, half-Scottish comedian, podcaster and content creator. Fresh off his first sold out show at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, Ali is a refreshing mix of the ‘every man’ and the ‘modern man’, whose sensitivity and genuine interest in men’s mental health gives him a great perspective on the modern ‘lad’ culture which often features in his comedy. Ali is that wonderful blend of comedy with a heart, speaking on topics such as football, the environment, and many social causes close to his heart.

Ali won Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2020 and has appeared on BBC Radio 4, TalkRadio, TalkSport alongside hosting his own podcast ‘All I Do Is Fail’. His online comedy sketches under the tag @aliwoodsgigs have gained millions of views and likes, and featured on LadBible and Buzzfeed UK. Many of Ali’s followers found him after he supported Russell Kane on tour in 2022.

“In a world of wannabes, Woods is the real deal" - Evening Standard
