About

Join us for an evening of amazing live music with Megan Black, Philomenah, Lorna Lynne and Emma Dunlop!

MEGAN BLACK: "Ever thought of mixing '70's blues rock with queer feminist pop? If you dare, you will get none other than Scotland's very own Megan Black. After being tipped as one of Youth Music's 'One's to Watch' for 2024, Megan has gone on to win awards in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as being crowned 'one of the finest singer-songwriters working in Britain today'. With focus on themes such as feminism, mental health, the LGBTQ+ community, addiction, and climate change, her latest EP 'Full Circle (Part 1)' has been nominated for 'EP of the Year' in Scotland - highlighting Megan's new work and what is yet to come. Megan's music serves as a community for those seeking empowerment and positive change - one we're all invited to join!"

PHILOMENAH: "An alternative R&B artist from Shetland whose material is characterised by vulnerable explorations of love, sex and melancholy. Her debut EP “white dove”, a collaborative R&B project with producer RJ Cherry, was released independently in February 2022 with favourable response from media outlets such as The Skinny, Discover Nü and with airplay from BBC Introducing Scotland, Amazing Radio UK + US and Prun’ 92fm. Her single “Lavender” – released in July of 2022 – had a more progressive approach to r&b/alternative pop and was selected for Spotify’s editorial playlist Fresh Finds UK; and received airplay from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio and playlisting by The Skinny, Ones to Watch (Live Nation) and Discover Nü. “...the single is a soothing pop track with vocal brilliance.” ~ Paige Sims on ‘Lavender’, Lock Magazine. Philomenah is currently based in Edinburgh and has performed in a variety of settings in Glasgow and Edinburgh (most notably at Sneaky Pete’s for Independent Venue Week at the beginning of 2020 alongside Fourth Daughter and Goodnight Louisa). Philomenah's latest release "I Can't Wait" - a mid-tempo disco track which emerged out of session work with the Edinburgh-based label Athens of the North - was released on digital and 12" vinyl on 01/12/23. "I Can't Wait" had an incredibly positive reception, landing EHFM radio's track of the week, repeated airplay on international DJ Moxie's NTS show and the house dub of the track was played on the Giles Peterson show on BBC Radio 6 Music. Philomenah placed 2nd on Bella Caledonia's best of 2023 list and was featured in a piece in The National newspaper which highlighted Scotland's thriving music scene in the face of the pandemic's limitations."

LORNA LYNNE: "Starting at age 17 on an upside-down left-handed guitar, Lorna Lynne fell in love with singing and songwriting and began to pursue a music career. Going from open mic to acoustic Jam across Ayrshire, the starry light effect inevitably drew her to Glasgow, where she met future friends and resulted in the curation of projects such as Lori M (solo) and Pistol Daisys (duo) culminating in sold-out shows in grassroots venues in Glasgow and an accumulative 35,794 streams on Spotify. Lorna Lynne is her current project broaching more mature, personal, and emotional themes."

EMMA DUNLOP: "An independent alternative singer/songwriter from North Lanarkshire. A UK and International Songwriting Contest semi-finalist (2022), Emma has supported greats like Midge Ure, Richie Havens and Horse McDonald. Through a modern interpretation of 80s sounds and orchestrations, expect songs about love, loss and discovery.”
