Bude Blues, Rhythm and Rock Festival

Before we know it November will be upon us, and by popular demand............so will this three day festival......

Solid Entertainments is delighted to announce that Bude Blues, Rhythm and Rock Festival will be taking place at Penstowe Manor Resort on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9th, 10th, 11th November 2018

Traditionally held in Ilfracombe, this year we are relocating the festival just 17 miles down the road and crossing the border into North Cornwall to Penstowe Manor, a really tasteful intimate venue near Bude.

To celebrate our new venue and location, the line-up is our most ambitious since the festivals inception; with a mix of unforgettable names and terrific artists from the UK and around the world! With Focus, Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado and Wishbone Ash headlining plus fifteen other very different, but striking bands in the line-up, this will undoubtedly be a great festival and one live music event not to miss in the South West!

The full line-up over the three days is as follows:

FRIDAY

Focus (Netherlands) – Aynsley Lister – John Verity Band – Storm Warning – Federal Charm – Chris King Robinson

With their unique brand of progressive rock, Focus manifested themselves at the start of the '70s as the most successful and appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports. Fronted by founding member Thijs Van Leer, and best known for their hits “Hocus Pocus”, “House of The King” and “Sylvia”, as well as critically acclaimed albums 'Moving Waves', 'Focus 3' and 'Hamburger Concerto', the iconic Dutch music masters are back with their tenth album, which is guaranteed to please their legions of fans!

SATURDAY

Thorbjørn Risager & the Black Tornado(Denmark) - Grainne Duffy (Ireland) – Steve Hill (Canada) – The Luke Doherty Band (Wales) - Connor Selby Band - Born Healer

Three words immediately spring to mind when people talk about Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado: Talent, dedication and perseverance. As this band enters its fourteenth year, they have opened new doors, in many new territories and with all the hard work they put into their artistry, they surely deserve it. This Danish band has been called one of the most successful blues & roots bands on the European continent, and they are selling out most venues when they play there for the 2nd time.....

SUNDAY

Wishbone Ash – Chantel McGregor - Erja Lyytinen(Finland) – Billy Walton Band (USA) - Lightnin' Willie & The Poor Boys(USA) – The Zoe Green Band

Discover for yourself why Wishbone Ash remain one of the most enduring and popular bands in British Rock. With millions of albums sold, their iconic twin-guitar sound inspired bands from Thin Lizzy to Iron Maiden and produced such classics tracks as The King Will Come, Throw Down The Sword and Blowin’ Free. Combining the old songs with the new, they’re just as fresh and in demand after an amazing one year short of 50 on the road!

When this calibre of artist get together, festival goers will see unforgettable performances and hear a range of incredible sounds, with sets that incorporate a creative mix of original new material and a few classic numbers that will never be past their sell by date!

To match such a phenomenal set of musicians, the venue itself and location of the festival had to be just as impressive. Situated in a beautiful part of the country, set in private grounds, the holiday resort has a wide range of self catering accommodation and facilities also include: • Two bars, restaurant and take away • Indoor, heated swimming pool • On site gymnasium • Coffee Shop • Amusement Room

With accommodation for the weekend being just a short distance away from the music you won’t need to worry about booking that taxi to take you home or to a hotel at the end of each night. So whether you’re local to North Cornwall, travelling from the other side of the country or overseas to be with us, you’ll only have to focus on the music and enjoying yourself. Situated close to the Hartland Cornwall Heritage Coast and a stone’s throw from the historic village of Kilkhampton, Penstowe Park is ideally located for exploring the many delights of Cornwall.
