The park is located in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, which sits on the confluent of the Dordogne and the Ceou river. Dominated by its magnificent castle it is one of the most beautiful villages of France.
Places to visit:
The local region has many sites to visit, with popular neighbouring towns and cities (e.g. Bordeaux, Cahors, Toulouse) also within driving distance.
The Castle - Château des Milandes
Built in 1489, this charming castle with its magnificent Gothic features is a great example of Renaissance architecture. The interior is now restored and maintained in the 1930s style in which Josephine Baker decorated it. There are exhibitions and displays commemorating the life of Josephine Baker, which started in the back street clubs of New York and progressed to France where she was very well received and where she played a significant role in the resistance during World War 2.
The Garden - The legacy of Jules Vacherot
A great opportunity for you to stroll through a garden listed as a Historical Monument.
