UNDER AUGUST 2024 WEEKENDER

Under returns to its unique home under the Nene Parkway Flyover in Peterborough this August with another epic two-day rave!

Saturday 17th August is hosted by trusted event brand Mixology which for years has attracted world-class DJs to Peterborough, from Bicep through to Danny Howard. For the August party it welcomes some of the hottest names in house music including East End Dubs, Sidney Charles, SOSA, Ozzie Guven, Blondi and many more of the finest selectors.

Sunday 18th August sees the return of BBC Radio 1 DJ, Charlie Tee with her vital Unitee drum ‘n’ bass club brand, headlined by the one and only Dimension and in the fine company of Clipz (aka Redlight), Gardna, Lens, a live performance by the Brit-Award nominated Charlotte Plank, and enough MCs to send a shockwave through the city.

The setting of these events beneath the Nene Parkway Flyover makes for no ordinary clubbing experience. It’s the unique surroundings of the event that give it its special vibe; the juxtaposition of concrete and industrial wasteland with the beautiful, scenic landscape of the River Nene and Nene Park off in the distance.

MIXOLOGY - SATURDAY 17TH AUGUST

Following a mega three-day May Bank Holiday bash – which saw an on-stage marriage proposal orchestrated by Charlie Tee – we are ready to do it again. Saturday 17th August is staged by the revered east of England club promoter, Mixology, which for years has attracted world-class DJs to Peterborough, from Bicep through to Danny Howard.

Eastenderz label boss and TRMNL regular East End Dubs isa cultured selector, who’ll keep crowds locked in with his stripped-back, distinctive grooves from the worlds of house, garage and tech.

Apioneer of all things minimal, SOSA is riding on the success of his latest single “BLOW (White Girl In Town)” feat. Kilo Ali, which hit No.2 on the Beatport Top 100 Chart. Expect the floor to be shaking when SOSA drops this at Under.

One of Hamburg’s finest exports, Sidney Charles always delivers house music with depth, melody and groove. Expect tunes from his Heavy House Society label and beyond.

For minimal and deep cuts, Ozzie Guven will have it covered, playing out a catalogue of tracks that signed to Sidney’s label, Seven Dials Records and drawn support from heavyweights like Marco Carola and Michael Bibi.

A relatively new name to the scene, Blondi caught the attention of neXup record label boss, Max Dean, culminating in a feature alongside the producer himself on the groove-centric single ‘Jolie Chatt’.

UNITEE - SUNDAY 18TH AUGUST

Sunday 18th August is hosted by Unitee events, founded by Radio 1 Drum ‘n’ Bass show presenter Charlie Tee is a leading authority on all things DnB. The self-confessed music nerd represents everything special about the new wave of inclusive energy exploding in dance music culture right now.

Lauded by all from Chase & Status and Skrillex to deadmau5 and Sub Focus, DJ/producer Dimension is one of the UK’s most unique electronic artists. His distinctive songwriting style, high-energy output, and stunning live show have bowled over crowds on the Tomorrowland Main Stage, at Printworks and OVO Arena Wembley. Fresh from his largest tour of North America with Sub Focus, Culture Shock and 1991, Dimension is now back in the UK and he’s bringing back the beats – hard.

Original noughties junglist Clipz has made a welcome return to the scene after conquering all corners of the dance music circuit under the alias, Redlight. This is one for the bass music heads.

Gardna is an MC-songwriter and recipient of BBC Radio 1’s Dance Award. Expect an energy-driven live performance at Under.

Rapidly rising star Lens is not to be missed when she unleashes her imaginative and eclectic selections that’ve seen her tour with bass music royalty, Chase & Status and Hybrid Minds.

The star of singer-songwriter, Charlotte Plank, has been fast rising over-the past 12 months. She’s featured on anthemic singles with bass music’s finest, Turno, Skepsis and Hybrid Minds, and with Rudimental who she performed alongside at Parklife, Glastonbury and BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend. Along with Rudimental, Plank was nominated for Song of The Year at the 2024 Brit Awards for ‘Dancing Is Healing’, which charted at No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart.

UNDER is situated in idyllic, unique surroundings that juxtapose the concrete, industrial wasteland and the beautiful, scenic landscapes in the distance of the River Nene and Nene Park itself.

Under is located beneath the Nene Parkway Flyover – Orton Mere, Peterborough PE2 7DZ, UK (7 minutes from Peterborough Train Station & City Centre). Drop off point for UNDER is Orton Lock Car Park located at Orton Mere, Peterborough (please use the car park name (Orton Lock Car Park) for SAT NAV, not the postcode).

Peterborough is located in the middle of the stretch from London to Leeds and Norwich to Birmingham. This makes it the perfect location for a multi-genre event series in the East of England. Peterborough has excellent rail and road links from London, the Midlands, the North and rest of the East of England.
