BOX RED

BOX RED, the brainchild of UK DJ/producer Wheats, is a burgeoning record label and event series that is taking the electronic music scene by storm. Wheats had been mulling over the idea of starting his own label during the COVID-19 lockdown, but it wasn’t until a late-night golf and studio session with Solid Grooves Records co-founder PAWSA in 2021 that the idea of BOX RED really took off. After discussing his ideas and concepts, PAWSA encouraged Wheats to follow his vision, and with the backing and approval of a respected artist and close colleague, the label was subsequently born.

BOX RED’s main objective is to provide the rising South Coast talent with a platform to release music quickly and easily, without the red tape that can often slow down the traditional label process, but also as he sees fit in terms of his own musical output. The label’s releases have consistently hit the #1 spot in the Minimal/Deep Tech genre on Beatport, with some of the standout releases including’ N NIGHT’ (the highest selling Minimal/Deep Tech track of 2021), ‘G.T.N’, ‘WWWD’, ‘LET’S KICK IT’, and ‘HEAD’S ROLL’. The imprint has already garnered support from a host of heavyweight names, including Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Enzo Siragusa, Joseph Capriati, and Ricardo Villalobos.
