About

From 2000 to 2003, UK mainstream clubbing was at its peak. In the days of superclubs like Godskitchen and Slinky, where clubbing on a vast scale was a weekly event, Cardiff held its own and delivered a massive array of clubbing events for every musical taste and style and brought in the best selection of DJs from all over the world.

One of the city's biggest weekly parties was Enter the Dragon at Vision 2k. This genuinely colossal club in the heart of the city was everyone's destination every Friday for arguably one of the biggest and best trance and dance events at that time.

Launched in January 2000 by superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold to a roadblock party of 2,000 people, Enter the Dragon became synonymous with hedonistic all-night weekly parties. The club was immense and featured the cream of UK and international DJ talent and a resident team that always succeeded in delivering quality DJ sets. This quickly earned Enter the Dragon legendary status amongst the clubbing fraternity locally and nationwide. The Dragon linked with other club nights, such as Slinky, Miss Moneypennys, Sundisenntial, Goodgreef, and Renaissance, to put on some truly epic parties and regular events with Mixmag and was the magazine’s club of the month more than once.

So who was behind these ‘legendary’ parties? A chance meeting at a club in the South Wales Valleys started a relationship between DJ Jimpy and Andy Wheeler that is still as strong as ever today.

Andy told us, “Those were crazy times. We used to love the Friday night vibe, and it was always great to see everyone having a fantastic time. They were special days, and I think we're still recovering. Jim and I got together at that time; you could call it destiny as we just clicked, and we both wanted the same thing: putting on parties and smiling on everyone’s faces. It must have worked; we still want to do the same today. I guess that brings us to where we are in 2023!”
