Make a Scene was born from a collective passion for live music and the community and friendships we shared from within a diverse, creative local scene.
Bringing together a core knowledge of music and nightlife with the practicalities of event production, promotion and performance.
Filling the void between the large national event chains and local DIY collectives to provide a space to nurture grass roots talent while bringing exciting acts to the North-East with carefully curated events to appeal to the local scene. Holding a simple aim of bringing people together in a safe but exciting place to enjoy a compelling and vibrant experience and take people on that exciting journey to discovering some of their new favourite bands.
Festivals have always been at the heart of what we do, with the opportunity to put as many acts as possible in front of as many people as possible.
Previously featuring bands such as: Funeral For a Friend, Don Broco, Neck Deep, Boston Manor, While She Sleeps, Malevolence, Lower Than Atlantis, Bury Tomorrow, Skindred, The Blackout, Moose Blood and many more. Along with headline shows with international acts such as Wheatus, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Hawthorne Heights across a variety of North-East venues. This displays our ambitions through the range and calibre of artists we aim to involve ourselves with.
Alongside the successful Make a Scene Festival. The MAS brand also involves two main strains of nightlife entertainment: Overdrive Rock Club and Touchdown. These continue to promote independent and alternative rock across multiple venues both close to our region and further afield.
We have also embarked upon a journey with carefully selected artists through Make a Scene Management to further the opportunities of those acts we truly believe in.
How can artists apply to play at Make a Scene's event?

Please bare in mind that while we do absolutely love listening to and working with new artists it may take us a little while to respond as we swamped with many many emails every day. But we do listen to every link and reply when a suitable opportunity arises. Usually a line-up is fully booked before it's announced so while there is rarely opportunities to "Jump On" Shows unless we have a cancellation, all submissions will be listed and considered ahead of booking our next events.
