Mashup is an iconic part of Chester's electronic music culture.
Since the event was born in 2008, it has attracted tens of thousands of people to the city.
Whilst contributing era defining events to the beginnings and history. And helping to lead the cities future.
Mashup has dedicated its self to Chester's reputation, as an unearthed gem of budding music culture. Earning its status by the quality of the headline names, unique sound, and strong following. Soon to be hitting the milestone 10 years old. And it still remains with its 'all about the music' attitude... to create a fun and interesting event for everyone. Introducing new and major talent to the city.
Mashup was first known for holding intimate parties at The Frog & Nightingale. Booking the likes of Goldie, Public Domain, Aphrodite, Scratch Perverts, Evil 9, and even members of Boy Better Know before they were known. Creating a whole new era in the city.
As times changed, and the venue closed. The loyal followers continued to respect the contribution and dedication to the music culture. Praising each new chapter and new path.
And slowly with years of graft, Mashup came in to open The Compass, and with the owners, was asked to help establish dance music at The Live Rooms. Hosting events with B.Traits, Yousef, Shy FX, Ms Dynamite, Second City, Route 94, Gorgon City, Sigma, Jozef K, Wilkinson, Jaguar Skills, and more.
Whilst the event remains a consistent part of Chester's club scene, it also takes the party to new and exciting venues across the region. And has successfully brought a first of its kind festival to the area in 2015. With Delilah headlining the main stage.
