DAJIA MAGAZINE REVIEW OCTOBER 2010
If you worship big woolly jumpers (gentlemen) or retro dresses which make you look like war widows (ladies) then Revolver is the place for you.
First-rate 1960s pop, Garage, West Coast, Motown & Psychedelia turn on the tables of this intimate venue. Its a small place but who cares when youve got what you need: a decently priced bar, retro decoration, cheeky chappies and chapettes along with some ace sounds youd never be able to find anywhere else!
The crowd of chummy socialites are either dedicated disciples or first timers who together celebrate this small piece of heaven in the middle of dead-end gray urbanisation. `The mellow atmosphere of this place makes anyone whos anyone stand up and attempt to boogie along to some truly fantastic mixing.
This night is a true representation of what the Manchester music scene is all about; finding something small and unique which you can go back to every week. Even the dingy appearance of the Roadhouse adds to the novelty and makes you wish that youd been born 40 years earlier in a tableau of underground harmony.
Revolver is on every Monday at the Roadhouse and also every Saturday at the Deaf Institute- Ruddy well recommend you all should go!!

REVOLVER GUARDIAN REVIEW
Revolver, Manchester One of the best things about clubbing these days is the wide variety of themes that club nights boast, particularly within the larger cities. Should the mood take, you could glam up for a 1970s night, suit up for a mod bash, or make yourself look deeply unattractive and musically oblivious in order to fit in at the 1980s revival, all within the space of one week! Although Revolver's Monday night time slot, more often than not it's a sellout by midnight, the familiar and fun soundtrack of classic rock, pop, soul and psychedelia proving particularly popular with students. Oil lamps and other wobbly lighting effects adorn the walls of its subterranean home, the Roadhouse, and the atmosphere is of such a calibre that Revolver took pride of place, in preference over several weekend regulars, at the club on the most recent New Year's Eve. URBAN LIFE REVIEW
A Retro night that's actaully cool, surely you jest? Nope, REVOLVER has become something of a Manchester Institution for playing great tunes from days gone with none of the cheese. What makes this night even better is the vast drinks selection at fabulous prices. A worthy way to start your clubbing week

REVOLVER vs UP THE RACKET - Silent Disco Review
Enjoy the Silence
Tottering up the steps of Manchesters Deaf Institute, I wondered whether the experience of a Saturday night silent disco would force my skinny legs skating around the dance floor, or sullenly shuffling back out of the joint. For the third collaboration between mighty Manchester nightlife stalwarts Revolver and Up the Racket, sees them testing the water of a medium usually reserved for muddy midnight festival nutters, or half-full, internet-concocted train station rendezvous.
The proposal for a 60s pop/northern soul and catchy, contemporary indie silent disco, therefore, is a brave one.
Lucky, then, that the proposal was championed, for the night was truly amazing.
Beneath the spin of the dangling disco ball, bequiffed teddy boys fluttered about the room, unfazed as the headphones flattened their tops, rubbing shoulders with smouldering, cheerily cheek-boned ladies, spinning and bouncing upon tiny plimsolls, to the music beating inside and against their jubilant ear drums.
And it was the music, moreover, that ensured this fantastic dizziness of the dance floor. Friendly Fires fired into one chaps head whilst The Supremes swooned into somebody elses. The result was a pulsating dance floor, jigging wildly to uplifting, rhythmic dance delights.
And thats not to mention the fun to be had by removing your headphones and listening to the warble and tangle of tuneless voices, or witnessing the silly jives and taps of silent dancing!
The more the Racket Upped, the more the room excitedly Revolved.
