Salford Pride routes date back to 2011, with the organising committee for the first ever Peel Park Pink Picnic.
In 2017, after 7 years of organising Salford’s annual Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Trans and Non-binary, plus (LGBT+) pride celebration, Peel Park Pink Picnic was renamed The Pink Picnic.
In 2018, the organisation behind The Pink Picnic was formerly named Salford Pride. The organisation name change allowed the volunteering team to deliver additional projects for the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year.
In 2020 Salford Pride became a registered charity in England and Wales. All trustees and team members are volunteers and offer their valuable time for free.
In 2024, Salford Pride continues to deliver Salford’s annual pride event, The Pink Picnic, and other fundraising, awareness and educational projects for the LGBTQ+ community.
All Salford Pride events are open to anybody to attend and enjoy - no matter how they identify; promoting equality, inclusion and community cohesion.
