About Forbidden Forest

Founded in 2016, Forbidden Forest is a magical place where people celebrate their love of music, nature and dance.

Its stunning home, Belvoir Castle (meaning 'beautiful view') is located in hundreds of acres of lush forest, surrounded by rolling hills as far as the eye can see and steeped in history dating back to 1067.

Expect the best of the best talent across House, Tech House, Techno and D’n’B, with a lineup of over 50 outstanding artists, providing a stand-out soundtrack for a forest rave like you’ve never experienced before.

Together with its Forbidden Family, this festival has created an environment where all are equal and all are united by the love of electronic music.

It's a great event & I know the weather can't be helped but I feel it is badly organised, with very poor signage & stewardship for the past three years & it seems to be getting worse, the drum & bass stage where people dance the hardest & always has the biggest crowds, needs to be on the largest flattest most open area! & changing the walkway entrance to grass only, when there was a roadway available for most of the way, as per last year was ludicrous, it was like doing a tough mudda on the way in alone & having to traverse the same churned up mudslide in the dark, with poor lighting on the way back & not being allowed to exit via a different safer route was ridiculous. The layout of staging areas & smaller sound trucks lead to bottle necks & no simple keep left policies being implemented, or shepherded in these areas was ridiculous, there were no stewards in tightly hearded areas heading off problems & keeping people moving simply. The app isn't very good it doesn't work on all phone screen sizes & you can not easily screen shot set list times as Mobile coverage is poor so you can't access it much, if at all while you are there.. there are never enough bins near the food stands or anywhere else.. this could be a phenomenal event for a little forethought a lot more signage and site maps & a better app layout. Which I appreciate is a good approach with set times changing on the day, but how hard is it to slap a bit of paper in a plastic folder to a board as well, old skool. & have stewards posted at narrow crossing points & split the camping into two so that the roadway can be be used as a thoroughfare again. Or put down the plastic matting that protects the ground from the event.

Only down side is you can't get a phone signal and there is no maps anywhere to show you where the stages are or the line up which are two very easy fixes
