Brixton collective Alabama 3 come to the O2 Academy in Sheffield to deliver a gun slinging display in bluesy acid house. They hit the Yorkshire venue on Saturday 13th May to celebrate 20 years of music which has seen them release twelve studio albums, their latest coming earlier this year.
Blues is a ten song collection of futuristic country folk numbers some with strong electronic grooves, whilst others are more rooted in traditional sounds. Each tell a story with vivid and frank lyrics, much like opening track 'I'll Never Be Satisfied' - watch the mind melting video below.
The group are known almost everywhere for 'Woke Up This Morning', which famously soundtracked HBO crime drama The Sopranos. With such an extensive back catalogue and a powerhouse live presence tapped into everywhere they go, Alabama 3 are simply unmissable.
