For those of us that haven't yet had the pleasure of experiencing Enter. at Space, can you tell us what we can expect from the night?
I think there's something for everybody. There's the Sake Bar where the music is more eclectic and anything goes, Kehakuma on the terrace where I usually play which is more funky, Air (upstairs) where some really interesting experimental / ambient acts perform, and of course the main room for techno where Rich plays each week. It's a quite well rounded affair.
We are pleased to say that you will be playing each and every Enter. date across the season, is there any particular line-up that you are most looking forward to being a part of?
There are many friends playing throughout the season so it's hard to say, but one night I definitely enjoyed was the Detroit night. I used to work in a record store with Mike Huckaby in the early nineties so it was a great pleasure to hear him play at Enter.
And is there any fellow DJ that you are most looking forward to playing alongside?
With my crazy sisters in crime Heidi, Maya J. Coles and Tini. Never a dull moment with that bunch.
I've been a couple of times to Enter. now (review) and personally feel that it is by far the biggest thing to hit Ibiza this year. Richie Hawtin really has raised the bar! Would you agree?
Oh yeah! I am very impressed with his dedication to the night. He is a great host, always at the club beginning to end making everyone feel welcome. You can feel how excited he is to make this a very special night.
You recently played one of the intimate Enter. Sake sets for the pre-party, what was it like playing in there?
I wasn't sure how the pre-party concept would turn out but actually it has become my favourite place to play. People come out to hear music that you wouldn't necessarily hear on the big floors and it's very fun to play deeper, weirder music.
And what's your opinion on Sake?
I love it way too much. It's dangerously smooth.
Has your busy Enter. schedule affected how much time and effort you can concentrate into working with yours, Marc Houle's and Troy Pierce's recently revitalised label, Items & Things, at the moment?
Well July and August are always the most intense but I definitely do my best to keep up with label work to keep the momentum up.
And what can we expect from the label in the next few months?
We have a great EP coming up from Click Box in September with two old school acid house tracks and a dark new wave gem with an equally nice Madato remix. Also in the works are an EP from Rework and some collaborations from Macro, Troy, and I with Miss Kittin.
Finally Magda, what three tunes are you most enjoying playing in Enter Kehakuma so far?
Oh that's a tough one but I would have to say:
1. Forward Strategy Group - Nihil Novi (Michael Cliffe House remix by Dom Factory Floor) (Perc
Trax)
2. Rework - Werewolf (Magda remix) (Meant)
3. Jesper Dahlback - Tanden
Catch Magda on the Terrace week in week out at Richie Hawtin's Enter.
