The 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo will join fellow rockers Korn on tour as they hit South America with a string of dates.

The massive metal band have had to take on the run of gigs without regular bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, however young axe-man Tye Trujillo has stepped up to the plate to fill in.

It'll be a world away from performances he has undertaken with his own band The Helmets, however, a look at Trujillo junior in action shows that he has some serious talent on the bass guitar. Korn wrote on Facebook to say: “We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye."

Korn have massive performances at Leeds Festival and Reading Festival penned in for this summer and released their 12th studio album The Serenity of Suffering just last year
