Sankeys has been mightily busy of late, with news this week coming of its inaugural London party as well as the first revelations for its return to The White Isle. But it's where it all began that we look to today, as Sankeys invites one of the biggest duos in dance music to its home in Ancoats, just outside of Manchester's Northern Quarter.
When it comes to DJs primed for party starting, none come more readily to the forefront of the mind than the Dewaele brothers, better known as 2ManyDJs. It's incredible to think that it's coming up to 12 years since we were left gobsmacked by the tenacious release of their 'As Heard On Radio Soulwax' series.
Those seminal mix CDs saw the the brothers gleefully smashing the likes of Salt n Pepa into Felix Da Housecat, Daft Punk into The Beatles, David Bowie into Kenny Loggins and Peaches into The Velvet Underground, mixes that on paper simply do not work, but in the hands the Dewaeles, are simply breathtaking (read Jimmy Coultas' misty eyed revisiting of that series here).
Their live sets have regularly reached the legendary (above) as the obscure meets the popular, via the impossible in dizzying fashion. It's an absolute masterclass in disc jockeying, turning the act of blending one track into another into a whole new artform that continues to blaze through dance floors and festival fields with venom. Their arrival at Sankeys then is an absolute must see - nobody does it quite like the Belgians.
Joining them will be Justin Robertson, Riton, Will Tramp and Sugiurumn for a rave up of unparalleled potency.
