300 presents DJ W!ld

With the trend these days seeming to be throwing the most grandiose raves imaginable, with huge DJs playing to thousands of anonymous revellers from a distant vantage point, the old fashioned intimacy between crowd and DJ has been somewhat lost in place of big visual effects, austere security staff and a huge barrier separating the beloved selector from their audience.

So it's refreshing to see someone take a different approach, which is exactly what 300 have done. As the title would suggest, only 300 tickets are available for their inaugural night, as they embark upon enticing some of the world's most most respected DJs to an as yet undisclosed venue in Wolverhampton.

First in their sights is none other than Cocoon favourite and W Records boss DJ W!ld. Renowned for his advocacy of deep, dark, sexy acid house music, DJ W!ld has been a major influence in the underground of house music scene, both in his hometown of Paris and abroad, working against the grain for many years with an unwavering resolution to continue championing eclectic, forward thinking dance music.

He soon found himself in demand the world over, proving himself equally at home playing to crowds of over 10,000 in Brazil, as he is to sell out Twilo club in New York, or the sun kissed, laid back pleasure seekers at DC10 in Ibiza. His productions too have been championed by everyone from Ricardo Villalobos to Luciano, Andrew Weatherall to Sven Vath.

He has since enjoyed hugely well received slots at the likes of Miami's WMC and Barcelona's Sonar, some of the most iconic dance music festivals in the world. His unrelenting hybrid sound of acid house, techno, disco and soul is one that continues to tear up dance floors across the globe, making him a seriously impressive first booking for 300's campaign.
