Dance floor destroying Scotsman, Ewan McVicar agreed to take sixty seconds out of his increasingly busy schedule to answer a few questions, revealing everything from his most listened to artist to where he's most looking forward to playing in 2022.
The Ayr-born DJ and producer, who erupted out of the electronic underground scene last year with his top forty single 'Tell Me Something Good', has been on the receiving end of some seriously high praise from a list of influential DJ names - the likes of his label boss and personal mentor, Trick's Patrick Topping, Arielle Free and Danny Howard.
Learn more about the fast-rising talent and find out where you can expect to see him live in the not so distant future, by reading the short and snappy interview below...
Hey Ewan, how's it going? Tell us who you are and describe your sound?
"What’s happening Skiddle! I’m Ewan McVicar and I’m a DJ and producer from Ayr in Scotland. I would describe my sound as club orientated, raw and energetic. I play both house and techno tracks but I really like to keep my live sets eclectic. I love to jump between different styles and sounds to keep things interesting and bodies moving."
What's the best gig you ever played?
"Sub Club in Glasgow, it's the club I've spent most of my nightlife in. I got a residency there a few months ago and it was absolutely unreal."
-
Which artist have you been listening to the most recently?
"I'd say right now, it's Tupac. He’s who I listen to, to chill out before a show. I have his albums on and they just help me to chill out."

What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
"I’m on some dream festival lineups that I can't wait to play at. Going to all the clubs that I’ve loved playing over the last six months"
"I've got a new EP out on Optimal/Optimo this year - a legendary Scottish dance music label - and I can’t wait to play it live when I’m back at Sub Club this April (ticket link at the bottom of the page)."
