For 10 years now, Frazi.er and Co have been setting alight Glasgows West Street with their annual house and techno festival, which they have recently rebranded as PLTFRM.FSTVL. Taking place under two railway bridges, the festival has been on a consistent rise over its 10 years at the site, and this milestone night, which is also being sold at an insanely affordable price, looks set to be one of the best yet.

With it all set to kick off tomorrow, we wanted to let you in on some last-minute recommendations of which acts you simply cannot be missing. From those at the very top of the bill, to a few earlier on who warrant all the possible praise, PLTFRM.FSTVL's 10-year-anniversary lineup is jam-packed with a considered, diverse, and forward-thinking array of talent

So, without further ado, let's get into the seven acts we here at Skiddle can't wait to see at PLTFRM.FSTVL

If you want to see what Frazi.er had to say about PLTFRM.FSTVL and its new look and lineup for its 10th anniversary at West Street, read our interview with him - HERE

Floorplan

Floorplan, a moniker of the legendary Robert Hood, is a minimal Detroit techno machine that sees Hood push an emphasis on soul and experimentation over flash and popularity. Hood was a founding member, along with Jeff Mills and Mike Banks, of the Underground Resistance label, whose influential releases throughout the early and mid-'90s helped change the face of modern Detroit techno and sparked a creative renaissance.

Basically, he's an absolute legend and stalwart of the scene, whose influence and ability are rarely matched. He's a special guest for a reason and one you have to see at PLTFRM.

Speedy J

Another absolute legend of the techno scene, however, this time pushing forward the minimal Detroit sound from the clubs of Rotterdam; Speedy J is one of the true Techno godfathers. His tracks and mixes have inspired countless producers and DJs, and he, along with the likes of Laurent Garnier, Aphex Twin, and Richie Hawtin, helped define techno as an essential genre of dance in Europe, helping it become the beast that it is today.

He's a legend for a reason, and you'll only thank us after seeing his set; seriously not one you can be missing.

Daria Kolosova

One of the very best, and arguably most underrated, female DJs working today, Daria Kolosova's music is always unexpected, taking sonic journeys through the speakers that dare to dream and stand out amongst the rest; whilst also maintaining a strictly danceable soul. Born in Ukraine, she has been on a steady and defiant rise over her career, and when it comes to all things hard and groovy in the Tehcno world, there are few better.

Just go and see her, there are few DJs like her and her sets are always something to behold.

DJ Heartstring

In a refresh of the Sunday, PLTFRM have introduced Eurodance into their lineup and what a way to introduce it with a name like DJ Heartstring. The Berlin-based duo have been ripping up stages for years and, whilst a bit of a nightmare for techno purists, produce a slick array of trance-infused Eurodance that never shies away from making things a bit poppier than their counterparts. But, with a reaction like they have been getting, we think this is going to be one of the absolute standout sets of the weekend, and can't wait to see them getting the crowds grooving.

Quail

With the festival being set in Glasgow, we'd be hard-pressed not to include the Glaswegian legend himself, Quail, in our lists of acts to see. The figurehead of the revered Glasgow techno brand Animal Farm, Quail has been at the forefront of the city's techno scene for well over a decade and consistently strives to push the boundaries of the genre.

We can only imagine what he has prepared for this epic set in his hometown, and it's someone, especially if you're a local, that you have to make time to boogie to.

Kintra

Getting into the acts on further down the bill now, we wanted to uncover a gem for you, and Kintra pass the test with flying colours. A DJ/Violin duo comprised of two twin sisters from Scotland, their brand of acidic techno is infused with a Celtic soul and extraterrestrial accompaniments, all whilst expertly picking out moments for the strings to shine. One of the most unique acts on the bill and a good one to catch early, we can't recommend Kintra enough!

Hayley Zalassi

One of the UK's best rising female DJs (who we also included on our female DJs to watch out for in 2023 list), Hayley Zalassi is a high-energy Glaswegian with a penchant for magnetic sets that capture your soul and don't let go. A modern legend on the local scene, and someone who has been smashing up Ibiza as well, Hayley is a must-see at PLTFRM, particularly as the festival will be a return to her hometown; as who knows what she has in store.
