The world's first grime instrumental appears to originate from a 1994 video game. The track can be heard on the boss level of ‘Wolverine: Adamantium Rage’ and features all the telling attributes of a filthy grime beat. Check it out below.
The discovery was originally made by Sir Pixalot who tweeted about his findings, claiming that he had found a grime instrumental dating back to 1994.
The track itself was originally created by Dylan Beale, a Newcastle born DJ who moved to London and began creating music for American video game developer Acclaim.
In an interview with sbtv he reveals how he created the track with limited sample space and that he was also part of a 90's jungle duo called Rude and Deadly.
Sir Pixalot has since gone on to create his own dub that features vocals from J - Wing, listen to it above.
