Ever been to a party in a prison? The launch of A Wing will enable you to do just that, find out more here.

Dance music has a habit of turning up in the most unusual of places. Acid house started in abandoned warehouses and fields, Ibiza is rife with parties on the beach and in caves (Zoo Project even utilises an abandoned zoo), and in Liverpool they take it to the extreme - Freeze have raved in the Anglican Cathedral whilst Andrew Weatherall headlines 303's party in a former mining shaft on Sunday April 20th.
That said, the latest unusual location we've learned of could be taking things to the next level with the launch of A Wing, set inside the former prison of Lancaster Castle. That's right, a building once used to detain the miscreants, ill behaved and nefarious members of society at her majesty's pleasure will be transformed into a space fit for a journey throughout the most hedonistic music on the planet.
With space for just 500 rave goers, A Wing will be bringing two rooms of electronic music at each event, and launches with a complete set of events over the second May Bank Holiday weekend. The first we can let you in on now, as Carlisle promoters Uber pop down the M6 to bring James Zabiela, Denney, Sonny Wharton and James Ryan to the venue.
Zabiela remains certified dance music royalty. Having spent 15 years as one of the most technically proficient, musically dexterous and blisteringly consistent DJs on the scene, his ability to weld differing musical styles together with jaw dropping ease has ensured his lengthy status as a true superstar of the rave.
Coursing through rough and ready bass music, pulsating techno, visceral house grooves and much, much more, he underpins it all with a trademark technical zeal which puts him ahead of his peers. Watch him live on the Mixmag DJ labs above for an indication of the immense talent, quite literally, at his fingertips.
He'll be supported by Uber favourite, Back to Basics regular and Hot Creations talisman Denney, the most recent incumbent of our Weekends Matter podcast Sonny Wharton and James Ryan. Head here for further listing information and ticket details.
