Date published: 24th Apr 2023
In May, Lost Horizon in Bristol will be hosting the Acid Jazz & Illicit Grooves exhibition which celebrates 35 years of the movement. From Wednesday 10th-Sunday 14th May, you will see the evolution of the term first coined back in 1987. From its inception to the growth it had in the time preceding it, you'll hear about all of the innovators within the scene.
The locations which were important to Acid Jazz will be highlighted too. As well as the exhibition itself, there will also be two gigs in support of the anniversary also taking place in Bristol. Firstly, Omar will be playing with a live full-piece band, he has collaborated with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Erykah Badu. You can find more information and tickets here.
The other gig will be on Friday 12th May and it'll see the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio hit the stage to bring their 1960's organ jazz stylings to keep you entertained. Their musicianship will absolutely blow you away, tickets and information can be found here. For the exhibition itself, tickets will be available at the bottom of the page.
