Africa Oye, Liverpool's leading free festival of music and culture from Africa and the Diaspora has unveiled its first set of acts set for Sefton Park in June.
The new additions include DR Congo 7-piece Mbongwana Star, a genre-hopping collective known to voyage electro-rock to soulkus. (catch them on Jools Holland below)
Ghanian Afrobeat legend Pat Thomas also plays with the Kawshibu Area Band and Tanzania's Ifa Band will inject some rumba and bongo rhythms for a native off-shoot of dance music to ramp up festivities.
Entering its 24th term, the two day family friendly festival is set to welcome record numbers once again who will immerse themselves in all aspects of African culture.
Africa Oye takes place from Saturday 18th to Sunday 19th June - check out our Africa Oye Festival Guide.
