They're eccentric, exuberant yet oh so British. Everything Everything brandish quirkiness in abundance and you've never heard anything like this record before - ever. It barely ever makes sense if we're honest, outlandish lyricism often recalls the nonsensical demeanour of Blur from time to time, although you'll never see Albarn spitting a tongue twisting verse three tracks in.

It's their most accessible album to date, most of us can align with 'Regret', 'MY KZ UR BF' not so much - although musically very similar. Jonathan Higgs' uplifting vocal is the nucleus to which the kookiness of the album rotates, 'To The Blade' explores hitched synths and progressive rock while 'Get To Heaven' washes on up on tropics with upbeat percussion and twinkling guitar riffs.

'Spring/Sun/Winter/Dead' relays the hook "I don't want to get to get older" while 'No Reptiles' recalls "Oh baby it's alright to feel like a fat child in a pushchair" what? It makes no sense, but it works and that's what's important. Everything Everything have widened the landscape of pop with a pair of crinkle-cut scissors - and we'll probably never hear anything like it again.

Everything Everything appear at Leeds and Reading Festival taking place from Friday 28th - Sunday 30th August.
