Qotsa's Josh Homme welcomed Alex Turner as special guest on his Beats 1 Radio show ,The Aligator Hour, last night.
Introducing Alex as "Origami teacher, hand model and international monopoly champion", Homme and Turner got onto the subject of iPhone notes and start to read through their own.
They include, "It's my headache", "cockalorum", "The shivers", "Put glass in front of everything"and "John Lennon as a TV Chef".
After discussing fantasy bars and 2015 being the year that is the future in Back To The Future, they get talking about songwriting. On the subject Homme said, "What was interesting about the time we recorded together is that you would change lyrics but I never saw one piece of paper."
Turner responds, "I have notebooks, and I do write things down. But I don't how much sense it would make. Often it looks more like an algorithm or something by the time I'm finished - you know somewhere in between a spider diagram and a word cloud."
Homme then poses the question, "Would it horrify you to find someone had stolen your notebook?", to which Turner regales a time he had his bag stolen. Listen to the full conversation on Apple Music here.
