Aras label boss Andre Galluzzi heads up the Berlin Berlin party at Egg London on Saturday October 21st bringing with him a wealth of experience that includes past residencies for Tresor, Ostgut and Berghain and a string of finely crafted releases for the likes of Cadenza and Cocoon.

A huge vinyl lover and founder of the We Play Vinyl parties, André Galluzzi continues to push boundaries always aiming to surprise the dance floor with his multi textured sets. A regular on Cocoon party line ups as well as turning out the masterpiece ‘Mario’ with Guido Schneider for the label, we catch up with Andre on the back of a hugely busy summer.

How has 2017 been for you so far ?

The highlights would have to be my set at Amnesia for Cocoon, and a massive We Play Vinyl party in Berlin we did. Berghain and Panoramabar are always extreme. And I am looking forward to getting back to London, I'll be happy to be back at Egg soon.

What tracks have been your favourite this year and what makes them stand out?

'Pisco' by Isoleé. That tune tells a story, it's very emotional, it's not too hard and not too soft. Also 'Space Concept' by Constin RP which is a perfect 9 minute piece... it doesn't need those peak-time moments, it's excellent for afterhours.

Do you feel your sound has changed in 2017 and how would you describe it for those who haven't heard you play?

Not at all, my sound has not changed. The atmosphere has changed, techno is no longer underground. But when you look at me, my style is still underground, I count on hypnotic moments and take you on a mystic journey.

What new trends do you see coming through for 2018?

Artists seem to be focusing much more on deepness, often going back to the roots of their styles. I like that.

Can you please give us a little insight into the Berlin scene?

Berlin always pictures life in a different way. It's not about a job, an event or a trend here. It's still all about the mood, and that reflects in the whole lifestyle at the clubs. We are all connected.

What are your favourite factors about living in Berlin?

Nothing compares to the city. Berlin has no concept. It's the beauty and the beast at the same time. Berlin is wild, with a really cool artists scene. It's a city with huge history in its bones... plus it has the best record stores.

Can you talk us through the clubbing, festival and party highlights from your long standing career and what made these so memorable?

Man, there are countless. I can't put it in a nutshell. One of them would have to be my residency at Tresor when I moved to Berlin back in the 90s. Also the Ostgut club opening and development. It became Berghain later.

I remember when Cocoon started the Monday series at Amnesia Ibiza for the first time too. It was all an adventure. They are not only memories, but they are a couple which stand out.

You have been part of the scene for over 25 years, what are the major changes you’ve seen over the years?

The think everything changed as a whole when the rave scene exploded. The techno movement got its break through. Mega-raves with key sponsoring became part of the scene, an unprecedented commercialisation of techno was in the process.

Clubbing as the social norm was now established. It became a massive scene and exploded like an own universe. It attracted a mass of tourists since then the club scene has been very international. It made Berlin what it is today, that European meeting point and melting pot for electronic dance music.

What do you listen to outside of electronic music ?

I like chill out and ambient on my travels, I also cant live without jazz and 80s music.

What are your five most important things in life?

Vinyls

Amore & La familia

Studio time

Healthy food

Espresso all day long!

Can we grab 5 tracks that never leave your box?

'That track by Kat' Kat Williams

'Storm' In Sync

'Typerope' Matthew Jonson

Convextion

'G.O.D' Deadset
