Since bursting onto the live music scene back in 2011, Antics has become the go to club night in Preston for championing the sounds of new underground bands and artists, as well as throwing a cult like night aimed at discerning fans of rock n roll, indie, new wave, post punk and psychedelic.
This New Year's Eve sees the Antics party set up shop in Manchester's Northern Quarter, headlined one of the city's finest up and coming bands. The increasingly iconic Night & Day cafe prepares to host Manchester émigrés, and self styled exponents of 'council pop', Orphan Boy.
Having recently supported Pete Doherty's Babyshambles to ravenous reviews, the trio's reemergence to live shows at the latter part of this year has been a welcome return to the limelight for the trio. Spending the majority of 2013 in the studio, Orphan Boy have resurfaced with a tidy amount of exciting new wares that has cemented their status as 'ones to watch' in the indie world.
Joining in on the celebrations will be quality psychedelic Manc four piece The Watchmakers. Expect to hear a wide range of tunes from some of their favourite artists, bands and influences as they take to the Antics decks for a full night of everything from 60s hits to indie electro. It's looking like yet another discerning line up from the Antics boys - a fitting way to end a flawless 2013.
