Arcade Fire and Plan B lead nominations for the Q Awards 2010, with three nods each.
The Canadian group are in line for Best Act In The World Today, Best Album for their third effort 'The Suburbs', and their track 'We Used To Wait' is up for Best Video.
British rapper Plan B's 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' is up for Best Album, and he also gets nominations in the Best Male Artist and Breakthrough Artist categories.
A number of artists have picked up two nominations for the awards, including recent Mercury Prize winners The xx, 'The Modfather' Paul Weller, British indie bands Kasabian and Muse and US groups Kings Of Leon and Green Day.
The magazine's annual awards - which take place on October 25th at London's Grosvenor House - will also see the introduction of three new award categories for 2010: Next Big Thing, Best Male Artist - which will see The Killers Brandon Flowers, Dizzee Rascal, Paolo Nutini, Paul Weller and Plan B go head to head - and Best Female Artist, which pits Corinne Bailey Rae against Ellie Goulding, Florence And The Machine, Lady Gaga and Laura Marling.
Q Editor-In-Chief Paul Rees said: ""There are more voted-for awards than ever, emphasising that the Q Awards, uniquely, are the people's choice.
"I'm delighted to say the quality and variety of the acts nominated this year testifies strongly to the fact that music right now is as vibrant and exciting as it's ever been."
