Taking over the glorious NextDoor venue at Birmingham's Rainbow Venues on November 14th will be one of the longest standing, pure-bred techno nights the city has ever called its own - Atomic Jam. They arrive at the unique venue in Digbeth to celebrate their 19th birthday, and in typical fashion they've put together a monster line up of techno dons to make this party a particularly memorable one.

It seems fitting that a night known for its pedigree and unwavering dedication to underground techno should welcome a man who emulates that ethos entirely, the UK's baron of techno - Dave Clarke.

What can we say about Dave Clarke? With his first productions snapped up by the mighty XL and R&S imprints at the dawn of the nineties, Dave Clarke has been on one meteoric rise that has seen him do more for UK techno than anyone before him, with the legendary John Peel going as far as naming Clarke's debut LP Archive One as number 14 in his top 20 albums of all time - which is one hell of an accolade to have against your name.

Recent times have seen Clarke in demand for his mesmerizing DJing skills at some of the biggest techno dens across the globe, (as seen in his Awakenings set at the top of the article) whilst his productions remain as potent as ever. Check out his killer remix of Marcel Fengler's 'Sky Pushing' above as an inkling of the brilliant and brutal sounds he is so good at touting.

He will be joined by the superb Ø (Phase), whose LP Frames Of Reference from last year was perhaps the standout techno record of 2013. In it, his skills as a mastering engineer shone through in his phenomenally engrossing productions, chock-a-block with haunting soundscapes, unnerving melodies and pummelling beats. Witness some of that in his most recent release 'Burden Of Proof' above.

Atomic Jam residents He/aT and Stephanie Sykes join Clarke and Ø (Phase) for what will be an enormous techno feast - a fitting birthday for one of the UK's most highly regarded techno nights. Grab your Atomic Jam tickets here.
