Legendary Jazz Funk threesome, Azymuth continue their resurgence and hit the live scene for a UK wide tour to celebrate the band's ruby anniversary. They first hit Manchester's Band On The Wall on Sunday 1st March before their final bow at Liverpool's District on Saturday 7th March.
Combining elements of funk, soul and jazz with Samba, Azymuth were able to carve out their own distinct sound 'Samba Doido' which roughly translates to 'Crazy Samba'. Spanning almost four decades, the group have released over twenty albums and managed to be the first Brazilian band to place at number one in the UK charts.
They've toured all over the world, delighting their vast fan base with jazzy slices of Brazil which you can witness in their boiler room effort above. The tour will feature pianist virtuoso Fernando Moraes, a long time admirer of late great Jose Roberto Betrami who contributed so much to the legacy that the band have today.
