Since the BACARDI B-BAR landed on the festival circuit in 1998, the brand has become synonymous with throwing parties that blend a unique mix of world-class DJs, live percussion and the all-important Bacardi rum cocktails, creating the ultimate party experience.
Building on the success of the BACARDI B-BAR over the past six years, BACARDI Rum is adding its very own 3-day event to the summer line-up, B-Live, taking place on 1st, 2nd, 3rd July on Clapham Common.
Featuring Jamiroquai, Paul Oakenfold, Norman Jay, Hed Kandi, the Brand New Heavies, Amy Winehouse, the Scratch Perverts and the BACARDI B-BAR, it is set to be London’s hottest party weekend with after-show events taking place on Saturday and Sunday night.
Alex Gellard, spokesperson for Bacardi rum says: “This is the perfect time for the Bacardi B-Bar to branch out with title sponsorship of B-Live since it’s been at the forefront of the music festival scene for so long. With great acts and facilities in a central London location, B-Live is sure to be one not to miss this summer.”
In the early years the BACARDI B-BAR was overtly Latino, which with the upsurge of Latin tunes during the summer of 2000, was totally in line with local tastes. But with its policy of keeping pace with trends in the UK music scene, the BACARDI B-BAR has developed organically over the past six years.
Its reputation as a fun and stylish alternative place to party at festivals and its core resident DJs Stuart Patterson, Martin Morales, Giles Patterson and percussionist Basil Isaac have remained the same, but its music style has changed and encompassed an eclectic mix of worldwide tunes. A wide variety of musical styles has been incorporated into the BACARDI B-BAR including disco, soulful garage, house, US hip hop and even drum and bass.
The BACARDI B-BAR continues to play host to world renowned DJs including Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles, Kenny Dope, Yousef, Dimitri from Paris, Loose Cannons, Bugz in the Attic, Derrick Carter, Mr Scruff, Jazzy Jeff, Justin Harris, Kenny Hawkes and Tiefschwarz.
This year the undisputed King of cool Norman Jay and disco don Joey Negro line up to take the BACARDI B-BAR festivities to six events throughout the summer appearing at We Love Homelands, V North, V South, T in The Park, Reading and B-Live.
