Deep in the heart of sleepy Ribble Valley something magical is once again beginning to stir. The festival gears and wheels have been slowly turning all through the winter and preparation for the best Beat-Herder yet is well underway.

With zero official sponsorship, no egos and not a scrap of branding in sight Beat-Herder is not about platinum selling artists on huge stages but about creative festival fun, locally sourced food and booze (at cheap as chips prices) and the friendliest most up for it crowds this side of the Pennines.

Amongst those already confirmed for the back to back to basics bonanza is the blindingly brilliant Simian Mobile Disco. Expect a serotonin raising mixture of deafening pile-driving synths, grizzly techno and hands in the air sing along electro as they treat us to a high-energy performance like no other.

Joining them will be the amazing Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs aka Orlando Higginbottom, who'll be donning his trademark dinosaur outfit and bringing his unique sound to Beat-Herder table.

Also confirmed are the London kids We Have Band, who will be bringing their own brand of danceable indie to proceedings. They will be joined by Andy Weatherall with one of his eclectic and unpredictable sets. Whether spinning an awe inspiring, genre-leaping set or relaying his own tunes, the man can do no wrong.

They will be joined by Barry Ashworth and his band of merry Dub Pistols, the amazing Mr Scruff, breaks heavyweights Plump DJs, Scotland’s finest Mylo, Dirty bird records darling Riva Starr, forward thinking Cornish lad Boy 8 Bit and acid techno legend Justin Robertson amongst others including local boys, the hilarious Lancashire Hot Pots and The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show.

With its intimate, fun atmosphere and amazing facilities Beat-Herder strikes the perfect balance between ‘up for it crowd’ and family friendly vibe. With a new and improved Kids' field and super cheap kids' tickets, Beat Herders of every age are warmly welcomed!

More acts soon to be announced, so watch this space!
