Beat-Herder organisers have revealed some exciting line-up additions, including the dark prince of electro, Erol Alkan.
Shaking the trees with one of his flawless sets spanning everything from full on mutant techno, disco, crowd-pleasing electro bangers and back again, Erol Alkan will be heading up north to pull in the crowds at the Toiltrees stage on one of the three amazing nights.
With an understated yet discerning bill which already includes the likes of art pop boys Django Django, Essex’ finest poet laureate Scroobius Pip and his trusty knob twiddling partner in crime Dan Le Sac, electro boys Does It Offend You Yeah? Electro pop outfit Chew Lips, the amazing Easy Star All Stars, lord of the floor filler Alex Metric and rave veterans Utah Saints, the Beat-Herder line up just keeps getting better.
Also confirmed is Cornish genius, the amazing Luke Vibert. With a vast back catalogue spanning pretty much every electronic genre imaginable, Apex Twin’s sparring partner will be bringing an expertly executed blend of superbly eclectic electronica to proceedings. Bloomin’ marvelous!
Next up is unmissable one-man blues band Son of Dave. Expect a fail safe, no-nonsense foot stomping mixture of low-fi harmonica scattered country folk as this charming odd ball gives it some serious welly. Show stoppingly brilliant!
They will also be joined by London Fabric resident Ali B who will be bringing a mixture of funk and soul, hip-hop, breaks and electro to the forest stage and with some more extra special line up additions soon to be announced, this year’s Beat-Herder looks set to be the biggest to date.
Now in its fourth year the back-to-basics bonanza that boasts zero official sponsorship, cheap local food and booze, weird and wonderful art installations, breath taking views and the cheeriest, up- for- it festival crowds around is set in sleepy Lancashire deep in the heart of the Ribble Valley.
With everything onsite hand made in the amazing Beat-Herder workshop to the finest detail from an individual flower planted for each artist who has ever played to the bizarre vibrating benches the fully decked out Working Men’s Club and Grandad’s Room hidden in the trees, Beat-Herder is non-stop hedonistic festival fun stripped down to its roots. Free from branding and corporate booze sponsors, what better way to escape the machine and immerse yourself in three wonderful days of unrivalled Beat-Herder beats and barminess.
With its intimate fun atmosphere and amazing facilities Beat-Herder strikes the perfect balance between ‘up for it crowd’ and family friendly vibe and with a new and improved Kids field and super cheap kid’s tickets, Beat Herders of every age are warmly welcomed.
Tickets are just £74 (inc booking fee) and there are more amazing headline acts and madness soon to be announced.
