Beats Per Minute: CruCast unveil their Electric Woodlands 2021 setlist
The world-conquering bass music collective reveal the fire in their live setlist, in the third Beats Per Minute playlist takeover, ahead of their performance at Electric Woodlands Festival later this month
Date published: 14th Sep 2021
The CruCast crew have taken over the world of bass music at such a turbo pace that many fans have been left trying to catch their breath and stop their heads from spinning. A sensation that's more than likely being mirrored by the team of dependable selectors, curators, MC's and DJs behind the coveted brand.
Formed only five years ago, the collective first made a name for themselves pushing mixes from upcoming underground artists on their CruCast YouTube channel. Fast forward to the present day and the glow up is something to be admired...
They've since launched their own prolific and highly acclaimed record label of the same name, featuring releases from some of the biggest current talents in UK bass - the likes of Bou, Corrupt, Axel Boy and Cajama. They've also spread the good word of CruCast to far distant shores, appearing on stage in front of thousands at festivals the likes of Spring Break in Amsterdam and Croatia's popular Hideout Festival, as well as UK favourites Glastonbury and Creamfields, to name a few.
Now preparing for yet another UK-based music festival this month, the very first instalment of the one-day rave event, Electric Woodlands, the undisputed kings of low-frequency dance music have graciously allowed us an exclusive sneak-peek at some of the bangers you can expect to witness at the forthcoming event.
Check out the playlist below - featuring fifteen of the best bass-friendly tracks - and continue reading to hear more from the CruCast team about their upcoming stage takeover at Electric Woodlands 2021.
As part of this Electric Woodlands Festival x Beats Per Minute special, we invited you, the CruCast team, to build us a playlist packed with fifteen of the naughtiest bass bangers we can expect to hear in your live set at this year's inaugural event.
Out of those fifteen chosen tracks, which, in your experience, seem to gain the biggest reaction from crowds you’ve already played in front of this year? What are the top 3?
"Kanine - Want You, Skepsis & TS7 - Freak, and Bru-C & Bou - Streetside."
-
In addition to a first-rate selection of the finest cuts in bassline, drum n bass, grime, UKG, dubstep and more, what else can the fans at Electric Woodland 2021 expect from your set?
"Expect some special guest PA’S, some exclusive back to backs and some incredible stage productions."
-
Us muso’s here at Skiddle, much like our readers and customers we’re sure, are always on the hunt for new and exciting artists. To that extent, are there any emerging talents you’ve had on repeat as of late? Maybe one featuring heavily in your sets or in this Electric Woodland X Beats Per Minute playlist?
"Watch out for new artists emerging such as Cajama and Zero, they're both paving their own way with a unique sound."

CruCast has experienced a meteoric rise since starting out back in 2017. The brand has toured extensively, appearing on stage in front of huge crowds in venues across the UK and at some of the world’s most epic music festivals - the likes of Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and Creamfields... Is there a particular event you've missed and if so, why?
"We love touring and bringing our sound to fans globally. All festivals and club events have different vibes. Some of our favourites include Boomtown, Leeds Festival, Nass Festival and London's Printworks, all of which helped put us on the map."
-
You’ve also previously had audiences losing their minds in the mega clubs that populate the infamous White Isles. Can we expect to see you all heading back out to the Balearic Islands in 2022?
"Fingers crossed! It's been a tough period for everyone with no shows for 18 plus months. We are just happy to see events happening again in the UK at the moment. We loved playing at Amnesia before the pandemic and had a run of shows cancelled when COVID hit, so fingers crossed we return next year, as the vibes are unreal."
