It doesn't seem that long since we were getting all excited for Justin Robertson's arrival in Preston for the Beats of Rage sixth birthday (watch the highlights from that below), and yet here we are, a year later, and Beats of Rage have now revealed the plans for their seventh birthday on October 4th.

It's no mean feat lasting seven years in clubland, but the Beats of Rage dedication to no frills, attitude free partying has stood them in good stead, with crowds continually growing as they reside in the packed out upstairs of the Adelphi in Preston's town centre.

Taking the reigns for the seventh birthday is something of a national treasure - Riton. Having started out as a hip hop DJ and downtempo producer signed to Mark Rae's Grand Central Records back in 2000, Riton has continued to experiment with his sound, delving further into electro and tough dance floor business with each passing year, boasting strong ties to the likes of Erol Alkan, 2ManyDJs and Heidi.

He entered the most formidable stage of his career back in 2010, when he and the late, great DJ Mehdi joined forces to create Carte Blanche - an irreverent project that plundered the toughest sounds of dirty, gritty, and off kilter electro, whilst redefining classic dance music tropes with lashings of edgy experimentation.

The project was understandably snapped up by the Ed Banger record label, of which DJ Mehdi was already a major player, as the duo joined the ranks of Mr Oizo, Kavinsky and Justice at the epicentre of the electro explosion.

Since then Riton has moved on to incorporate yet more genres into his arsenal, delving into techno, trap and r&b edits as he continues to forge a sound unique to himself. His brand new release for OWSLA's sub label Nest - 'I Am The Whisper' / 'Dance With Moi' (above), has seen him explore the darker recesses of his psyche for two lean club cuts destined to make the most of the Operation Sound System rig on October 4th.

Elsewhere the party will be joined by a live 808 and 303 acid set from PRTYDSTRYR, quirky 'drug chug' techno from Lost Control boss Black who arrives fresh from the forest at Festival Number 6, and the usual anything goes acid house, techno, electro and bass from MVRCK and residents TF Wizard, Hindle and Bail.
