Bestival Announce Fatboy Slim!

With a huge 20 stages being held across 10 massive fields, all crammed with huge headliners, Bestival’s 10th anniversary is setting up to be an unbeatable spectacle in the festival circuit.

Not content with the already announced main acts featuring the likes of Elton John, Snoop Dogg, M.I.A, Franz Ferdinand, The Flaming Lips, The Knife, Wu-Tang Clan, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, and Annie Mac to name but a few, recent developments have tipped us over from eager anticipation to fever pitched frenzy!

Last night Bestival announced the addition of none other than Norman Cook himself, a.k.a. Fatboy Slim.

Norman Cook was one of the main players the year of Bestival’s launch way back in 2004, getting the festival off to the best possible start. Norman himself has dubbed his set as ‘Fatboy Slim’s Bestival Birthday Bash’, where we can expect to see some of the antics that have made his live sets legendary. Everything from lazer displays to stunning back projections (and perhaps the impromptu release of a flood of Fatboy Slim balloons) are all trademark accompaniments to his rip roaring sets. Undoubtedly one of the finest party starting DJs on the circuit, his high energy sets full of classic Fatboy Slim hitsand dancefloor killers from the past and present have a characteristically unifying effect, which fits perfectly with the Bestival ethos.

As Bestival themselves have said: “you can expect the mother of all celebrations as the master of good-time party music throws down a large helping of epic goodness, like only he can.”

Add into the mix a whole host of fantastical attractions like the new 'The Port' arena, Films in the Forest, World Music Day on the Bandstand, The Wishing Tree, Swamp Shack and The Grand Palace of Entertainment, and its clear that Bestival 2013 is going to be something quite special
