Hitting in the (usually) sunny month of September, Bestival remains for many the final act in festival season. The Isle of Wight soiree packs considerable punch year on year alongside a fresh dollop of that unquantifiable festival ingredient, magic, and this year getting headliners as disparate as Elton John and Snoop Dogg together proves they’ve still got it.
They’ve now added more line-up additions, including a new set of DJs headed up by the incomparable Pete Tong ,who returns to the Wight isle to host Bestival’s All Gone Pete Tong. Other selectors includes Fabric resident Daniel Avery, Wall of Sound head honcho Mark Jones and deep sea bass warrior Mumdance, bolstered by further turns from Lovesick, ComfyPorn DJs, Dan Hayes, Propaganda DJs and Across The Tracks DJs.
The live side of things is also picking up, with Rudimental collaborator John Newman, electro body poppers Simian Mobile Disco, chill wave stalwart Pretty Lights, perennial Bestival favourites Kitty Daisy & Lewis, reggae breakbeat dons the Dub Pistols, and heaps more. And remember the theme this year is all nautical based – what are you planning on dressing up as?
