Bill Ryder-Jones' solo musical venture has seen him dabble in a number of genres and interchangeable roles. From writing film scores in collaboration with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to producing and recording for other artists, as well as appearing as a session musician, Ryder-Jones has quite an extensive CV.
As the co-founder and former lead guitarist of Liverpool psychedelic indie outfit The Coral, the musical reputation of Ryder-Jones is renowned within the city. His references to his hometown in his most recent release, West Kirkby County Primary, have been favoured by those who can relate as well as those whose regional backgrounds differ entirely, with the album's appeal stretching long beyond the Merseyside that inspired it.
Bill is to embark on a UK tour, where he'll showcase his own staple of indie rock, based around a folk narrative combined with heavier and less traditional guitar drones. He'll first supporting Chicago seven piece Whitney at their dates, including their Manchester Ritz performance on Sunday 4th June, following which he takes on other UK cities to showcase his folk-style indie sound.
