Just in case you couldn't quite wait until 23rd March for the Bloc Weekend mayhem to begin, the Bloc crew have gone and arranged a little pre-Bloc knees-up at the now infamous T Bar. Well when we say Œlittle¹ we do of course mean a small but perfectly formed rave-up in Londonf or the princely sum of nowt! So to whet our whistles for the exodus to the Norfolk coast at
the end of March, Bloc give you a little taster of things to come.

Considered by many to be the master of pure, rattling, stripped-to-the bone techno, Sleep Archive¹s acclaimed series of releases on his own label, along with his remixes for artists including Monolake and Rhythm and Sound, have become something of a benchmark in a seemingly saturated minimal scene.

Heavily influenced by Mika Vainio¹s legendary work on Sähkö, he fuses stark fragments of sound with quaking, skeletal rhythms to create the famed Sleep Archive sound, and his live sets are highly regarded the world over.

Dave Congreve and Mark Rutherford aka Repeat Repeat dropped one of 2006¹s most acclaimed electronic albums in the form of ŒSquints¹ on Soma, a smart, engaging work that sewed together elements of classic British electronica and modern club techno with their own, individual charm. Richly textured but with a keen ear for the dancefloor, they¹ve emerged as one of Soma¹s
brightest talents, as their storming live show attests.

Founder and resident at Brighton¹s Kliks, Lee Smith is a long time supporter of minimal techno in its many forms, both as a DJ, and as a journalist for magazines including iDJ and Plan B. Responsible for bringing numerous cutting-edge artists to the south coast, his versatile deck skills have resulted in recent gigs at Berlin¹s Watergate and Cologne¹s Total Confusion.

He¹s also resident for long running underground house night Stompa Phunk.

Representing London¹s underground Plex crew is James Tec, a man on a mission for new sounds in the world of techno, acid and bass. The next Plex party in Aldgate¹s The Hub on 10th Feb will include the likes of Eon, Skam¹s Rob Hall, Boxcutter, Ed DMX and Bloc¹s own Ed Chamberlain so electronic quality comes as standard with these guys.

With the Plex massive returning the favour at the Bloc Weekender, we¹re looking forward to catching a bit of pre-rave, rave action with Mr. Tec at the helm!

McQueen is one of Technique¹s crack team of residents from the legendary Leeds party crew who are celebrating their 6th birthday at this year¹s Bloc Weekender. Guests that have played at Technique over its illustrious history include Richie Hawtin, Mathew Jonson, Michael Mayer, Ricardo Villalobos, Adam Freeland, Plaid, Dave Clark, Plump DJs, Luciano, Evil 9, Wignhomy Brothers, Derrick May, Luke Vibert, Carl Craig, James Holden and many more.

McQueen brings his own electronic assault to the party with a dash of prime Yorkshire know-how.
