Bloodstock announce Gojira ahead of August Festival

If you like your festivals with that little bit more oomph, to put it mildly, then you could do a lot worse than get your teeth stuck into, quite literally, Bloodstock 2013. Set in the unfathomably idyllic setting of Catton Hall in Derbyshire, the stately home’s grounds will be transformed on Thursday August 8^th into the setting for the nation’s most essential metal festival. 

The festival recently announced French heavyweights Gojira would be returning to the festival having decimated proceedings back in 2010. Frontman Joe Duplantier quipped that ‘he was looking forward to seeing all our UK fans again and kicking your asses’, a statement that holds more than a modicum of truth if this relentless performance of crowd favourite ‘Flying Whales’, taken from their appearance three years ago, is anything to go by.

Bloodstock may have a very distinctive musical appeal, but their efforts in establishing themselves in the twelve years they have been active has seen a flurry of wide-spread acclaim from the wider musical community. 2012 saw them ensnare a number of accolades from the UK Festival awards, earning nominations in the ‘Promoter of the Year’ and ‘Best Grass Roots festival’ categories and walking home with the ‘Best Festival under 15000’ title.
