Bluedot Festival, the award-winning music, science and arts festival, which takes beneath the world famous Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory (recently awarded UNESCO World Heritage status) in Cheshire have just announced the selling out of all weekend tickets - with only day tickets remaining.
Now in its fourth year, the unique festival has attracted some huge acts, from The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Jean Michel-Jarre, The Pixies and The Flaming Lips, to great minds including smiley physicist Brian Cox, evolutionary biologist and author Richard Dawkins, and Nobel Prize-winner Professor Konstantin Novoselov - co-discoverer of the wonder material, graphene
This year's festival features another mind-blowing lineup, with headliners including electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, synth-pop band Hot Chip, fresh from their sublime performance on the Park stage at Glasto, and Manchester rock royalty New Order.
Other acts performing from the 18th - 21st July include Kate Tempest, Jarvis Cocker, 808 State, Omar Souleyman and Jon Hopkins.
Additionally, the festival will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landings by presenting special commemorative performances and activities, including an appearance from Britain's first astronaut Helen Sharman and an out-of-this-world performance from The Halle Orchestra.
Festival founder Ben Robinson said: "It's a huge honour to be able to curate this year’s festival around the celebration of the Apollo 11 landings. The whole team is delighted that we have sold out of weekend tickets two weeks before the show. Huge thanks to everyone involved for the outstanding commitment to making Bluedot a truly unique and innovative festival experience. We can’t wait for people to see what we have put together this year, it's going to be truly out of this world."
The festival will open on the 18th of July and run until the 21st. Remaining day tickets are available to purchase below...
