Boris Grebenshikov heads on UK tour with original members of Aquarium

The Russian rock legend comes to London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and back to London in December.

Boris Grebenshikov has announced a UK tour that’ll see him playing at London’s Lafayette on Sunday 8th, Edinburgh's Liquid Room on Thursday 12th, Liverpool's Arts Club Loft on Saturday 14th, and then back to London at Earth Theatre on Monday 16th December 2024 for a seated concert.

Widely considered one of the founding fathers of Russian rock, Boris is instantly recognisable in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Belarus, and other former Soviet Union countries simply by his initials - BG. The cult hero is adored for his poetry and guitar playing, sometimes being donned “Russia’s Bob Dylan.”

In March 2022, Boris’ band Aquarium, for which he is best known, disbanded so he could begin his solo career, with each gig becoming a statement against the war in Ukraine. Founded in 1972, Aquarium fused various sounds including folk, reggae, psychedelic, and more, becoming a huge band that would then break into the West in 1986 following the band’s appearance on Red Wave, the first compilation of rock from St Petersburg.

Boris’ upcoming BG+ tour sees him tour his newest EP Square Root Sun, plus Aquarium’s biggest hits. For the shows, Boris brings along the original members of Aquarium to complete his band lineup.
