There's surely no way better to shake off the overeating, overindulgence and required family friendly tomfoolery of Christmas than having a right good knees up the following day to blow away the cobwebs.
In Middlesbrough, four of the cities most loved and well respected nights join forces at The Empire to throw a party that will be the perfect antidote to the toll taken with Christmas Day. With four rooms dedicated to showcasing the finest in techno and house music in the North East, there really is no other party you need to be on Boxing Day this year than at The Empires Boxing Day spectacular.
Infinity Ink - Infinity
Heading the bulging line up will be Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations mainstays Infinity Ink in the Get Loose curated main room. Since creating one of the standout tracks of 2012 (check it out above), Ali Love and Luca C have cemented themselves as one of the coolest DJing duos on the circuit, continually reinventing their sound, staying fresh with an encompassing aura that has caused admiration from fans, critics and dance-floors across the country. Their recent release 'Aya' further stated that these two are unwilling to sit still and obey trends and definition, with their psychedelic, tripped out slo-mo house track blowing up across the board. Their live sets are a thing of beauty, as the two embark on the most imaginative ways to induce booty shaking bliss.
Amine Edge & DANCE Live @ Zoominimal
They will be joined by the french g-house upstarts Amine Edge & DANCE. 2013 was arguably their year, with an engorged following taking shape across the UK. Tracks like 'Going To Heaven With The Goodie-Goodies' and this year's 'Bitches In The Project' saw them hone their low tempo, hip hop inspired raw house and disco sound to the delight of DJs and ravers across Europe. Again renowned for the strength of their live performances, Amine Edge and DANCE are eagerly awaited for their North East arrival.
Other highlights include British deep house icon Dale Howard and the evergreen Ruckus DJs, intent on bringing the sound of their newly defunct Ruckus night back to life for Boxing Day.
RiffRaff host room two, with Leftroom and Cocoon powerhouse Matt Tolfrey heading up proceedings. As one of the brightest stars of techno in the UK, Matt has continually impressed at the highest levels, with the don of European electronic music - Sven Vath snapping him up for his all conquering Cocoon imprint. Quality is assured with Tolfrey at the helm.
Elsewhere Zoo Project's Lee Pennington will be putting in an appearance, as will Millhouse, Phillip Stirzaker, Wally Black and Nicky & Matty Peverell.
Fans of house and techno in the North East have found their Boxing Day destination. Quality.
