The huge 1800 capacity Brunel Rooms venue re-opens its doors this week with a seriously impressive bill of artists and DJs lined up to play at the venue (read more on that here).
None have us more excited than the arrival of one of the best loved dance music DJ in the country - Pete Tong. Having been involved in music in one way or another since he was 15, Pete Tong has gone on to host one of the most well known radio shows of all time - Pete Tong’s Essential Selection on Radio One. Championing such a vast selection of different types of dance music has been Pete Tong’s calling card and his own record label, the now legendary Ffrr imprint has been responsible in the past for getting the fledgling Chicago house sound to the masses whilst releasing commercially successful pop dance music at the same time, as well as signing underground jungle, drum ‘n’ bass, and acid house in the process.
Pete Tong's Live Set @ Radio One's Big Weekend
Pete Tong has in his long distinguished career established himself as an authority on British dance music culture. He is one of the few DJs who, despite working very much in the mainstream, still commands infinite respect amongst the underground, maintaining his truly iconic status.
His tireless DJing around the world has seen him stay very much at the top of his game, remaining a tastemaker amongst fans of electronic music, as he continues to have his finger firmly on the pulse. His immeasurable knowledge of what it takes to get a crowd going wild remains unparalleled.
He will be joined by a stellar cast of up and coming talent in the shape of Trav & Volta, Deepdubs and Swindon hero Joe Anderson.
With bookings like this, Brunel Rooms are off to flying start as the clubbing destination of the South of England settles into its stride for what promises to be a fantastic return.
