Swindon’s Brunel Rooms venues finally reopens this week to start a programme of events that sees them reaffirming their reputation as one of the most loved venues in the South. The location was always feted for bringing an international clout to the town of Swindon, and after a brief hiatus the 1800 capacity venue opens on Thursday to kick-start a new concerted run of parties.
Boasting two rooms powered by Funktion One and over 120 feet of bars, 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth is the first main draw to hit for the venue, bringing his underground philosophy and undeniable personality to the opening showcase. The other acts involved over this weekend traverse the spectrum of dance music, with deep house loveliness from Dusky, skittering house garage hybrids from Roska (check out his remix of former Artist of the Week Ghostpoet below) and turbo charged breakbeat from the Plump DJs.
There's much more to look forward to once this weekend is over though, with BBC Radio One DJs Pete Tong and Danny Howard among the star studded names coming up. Head here for more information on the Brunel Rooms.
