Some might say that Carl Cox is the face of Space. You'll find him heading the opening of the club at the start of the season, the closing at the end, and every Tuesday with his own night - The Revolution Continues - for a twelve week period across the middle.

Last year he celebrated a ten year Revolution relationship with the club, and he shows no signs of stopping any time soon - following on in 2012 with some of his biggest line-ups to date.

Last week we joined thousands of clubbers from all over the world for what we thought was a very special party. The big man himself was joined in the Discoteca by fellow techno titan Chris Liebing and the Revolution resident Yousef, whilst the Terrace was hosted by French favourite Laurent Garnier presenting his awesome Live Booth Sessions...

Yousef took the first slot in the main room; this worked well as his tech house provided a good warm up for the banging techno that would soon follow, but it was a shame as it meant we missed a lot of his set having not arrived early enough. As soon as we got there we clambered through the crowds onto the dance floor towards the bass of Julio Bashmore's 'Au Seve' bellowing out from the front, and set up camp for the remainder of Yousef's set. As per, he supplied some quality party tech house complete with groovy beats with big build ups, like Technasia's massive Ibiza anthem of this year 'Heart of Flesh', working the crowd as he went.

Next up in the Discoteca was Chris Liebing and after a powerful warm-up from Yousef, the crowd were more than ready. The name on our lips however was Laurent Garnier, who was about to begin his LBS on the Terrace...

A stage had been set up to the right of the room. This was to accommodate Garnier's extensive set up; when the master is at work, he needs all of his tools! It was a cool lay out, different, and the now narrower and longer dance floor allowed for a more intimate setting with both the clubbers and the DJ. From start to finish, our minds were captivated as Garnier took us on a musical journey with a range of euphoric, melodic techno, some of which I just don't have the words to describe. Of course, when he played 'Man With The Red Face' it was a big moment; twelve years since its release the epic tune is still loved across all dance floors.

Carl Cox was closing the Discoteca, but we were having far too much in the Terrace. Coxy plays a sound selection of driving, party techno and it is safe to say that a lot of clubbers that come to Carl Cox's Revolution Continues spend their time going mad for it in the main room to his sounds. Laurent Garnier's music, however, is on a completely different level. You could see the dedication burning in his eyes as he laid down his magical techno and tonight we were subject to some of the best music we've heard on the island. When his set had to come to an end, we could all celebrate in the knowledge that we had been a part of something special, showing the utmost appreciation for Garnier, who had been brilliant.

The Revolution Continues at Space, but not for long! The party closes next Tuesday, and the line ups for the Discoteca and the Terrace remain unchanged from the closing parties of previous years; Carl Cox, Loco Dice and Tini in the main room, with DJ Sneak, Yousef and Jon Rundell in the Terrace. We were there last year and it was brilliant - you'd be a fool to miss it!
