One of the world's most eminent DJ talents, legendary producer of house and techno, and all-round charming fella - the big guy, 'The Godfather' - Carl Cox has recently announced his first solo album in more than ten years. Nope. This is not a drill, people.

Electronic Generations, the intriguing name given to Cox's forthcoming fifth studio album, is set to be an epic long-playing treat for dance fans featuring no less than seventeen club ready tracks. Conceived in Melbourne, Australia, during the first lockdown in 2020, the new album marks the follow up to his last LP, All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor, issued back in 2011. Now primed to be unleashed later in the year - on Friday 16th September via BMG Records - the first singles from the record are beginning to emerge.

Released last Friday (10th June), 'How It Makes You Feel', a collaboration with sought-after techno specialist, Nicole Moudaber, is the second sampling of the greatly anticipated album and came with a note from Carl Cox himself. Taking to his social media pages, he said:

"I'm very happy with it, I think it's an epic techno journey which you have to play from beginning to end to get the full experience. It just gets stronger and stronger with its twists and turns... Nicole is a genius! She's able to take my original concept which might not be totally the kind of record she would make, but she likes a challenge and she set the bar high and ran with it. I think she's done a wonderful job with this one and I really hope you'll love it as much as I do."

The dark techno track picked up from where 'Speed Trials on Acid’ left off, another huge collaboration released earlier in the year between Cox and homegrown dance music icon - Fatboy Slim.
