1982 saw the release of album number six from American soul legends Shalamar. Entitled Friends, the album features three of the group's best loved hits, in the form of 'A Night To Remember', 'There it Is' and 'I Can Make You Feel Good' and is widely considered their best work, and rightly so too.
The album's success was also aided by a legendary performance on Top Of The Pops which featured singer Jeffrey Daniel delivering a solo dance routine that broke bodypopping in the UK, and unquestionably influenced the slick moves demonstrated by Michael Jackson in the years that followed.
35 years on, Caroline, the daughter of Dick Griffey (founder of iconic funk and disco label SOLAR and TV programme Soul Train ), joins original Shalamar member Daniel as well as long time member Howard Hewett to deliver stunning shows in London and Brighton this winter.
A night of glorious grooves and floorfillers will without doubt be on display - you can find Shalamar tickets below.
