It's December now so there's absolutely every excuse to start talking about Christmas and all the events and festive specials that are taking place in the month ahead. Liverpool, as per usual, is rife with some of the best parties and one of the most popular venues in the city, The Shipping Forecast, has got some yule-time treats lined up for us.

If you're looking for a way to dance off all that Christmas scran, look no further than Craig Charles Funk and Soul. The Radio 6 legend will be taking over The Hold basement area of The Shipping Forecast to deliver a huge helping of grooves and classics (check out a preview below).

The Liverpudlian has had an amazing run of the festival circuit this summer and is set to bring his hip-shaking funk-a-thon to his home town on Boxing Night.

On New Year's Eve Circus residents Lewis Boardman and Scott Lewis are hosting their annual 23:59 event in The Hold. The mainstays from one of the city's biggest clubbing authorities are set to countdown to 2015 with some of the biggest house and techno tracks of the year.

Upstairs in the bar on NYE The Cuban Brothers will be unleashing their weird and wonderful combination of comedy and music. The quartet skillfully work through hip hop and funk classics and throw some laughs in for good measure. It's entertainment at its best.
