There’s still time to catch the best of Majorca’s music scene before the summer season ends. Here’s what’s in store at the closing parties on the island.

The sister festival of Ibiza Rocks closes its doors for another season, with Northern Irish indie lads Two Door Cinema Club being the last to play on 18th September. However, if you’re too late for that then you can enjoy a We Are Rockstars event with Doorly and special guests on 20th September. If you’re around before the closing parties then there’s plenty to see, including New Order on 11th and Example with DJ Wire on 13th for We Are Rockstars. It all takes place in a hotel complex so you can chill out by the pool or on the beach in between gigs.
With the Mallorca Live Festival and Cream Mallorca also filling up the schedule, there’s technically more than one party here, depending on what kind of music you want to listen to. Earlier dates for your diary include Eric Prydz on 3rd September and Judge Jules hits town on 4th and 11th, whilst grime and urban fans will enjoy Mista Jam on 7th September. Over at Mallorca Live, Professor Green headlines on 2nd September, followed by resident DJ Andi Durrant with a big surprise guest one week later. Cream finishes up on 19th September with Calvin Harris, who has been an in-house DJ at BCM for the whole summer. If you’re looking to stay close by then you can’t get much better than the Marina Barracuda Hotel’s BCM themed entertainment area and its raver-friendly Fun 4 U rooms.
One of the later venues to close for the summer, the Halloween Party at Boomerang’s is certainly a memorable way to end the season, with the whole place looking suitably spooky and the playlist featuring the best of garage, hip hop, RnB and grime. 31 st October marks the end of club nights for the year at this urban venue, which has played host to guests including Danny Dyer, Skepta and Chipmunk. Before Halloween you can catch Roll Deep on 6th September and former So Solid Crew members Romeo and Lisa Maffia on the 8th. The club is on the main Punta Ballena strip, with easy access to local bars.
The newest clubbing spot in Majorca, the Nikki Beach franchise opened this summer in Calvia and has focused on a mix of dance, house and chill out sounds for those of you on a slightly larger budget (or for a special occasion), hosting special events like Miami Vibes. Things wind down with the Oktoberfest Party on 1st October, then there’s a Champagne and Caviar Pre-Closing Party on 6th October with guest DJs and dancers, whilst the official Red Closing Party with special surprise guests is held on 7th October from 1pm and into the night. You can buy CDs from the extensive Nikki Beach playlist, helping you to recreate the experience after you’ve left.
Clearly there’s something for every kind of Majorca clubbing holiday, whether you’re a hard-core raver with mainstream venues in mind or you prefer the glamour of Nikki Beach. Enjoy the last clubbing dates for 2012 and let’s get set for 2013…
